Since the start of the year, we have been blessed with quality underground and rough music. And now, one member of Gem Valley Musiq, Phuddy Jay looks to add his name to the table with his latest offering, ‘Tshwara’ featuring Thokoza Musicals & Switch De Voca.
If you’re a regular follower of Underground piano sound, then we are sure that the name Phuddy Jay would sound familiar to your ears. A member of Gem Valley Musiq group, the producer is notoriously known for his rampaging soundscape he calls rough music. As a rising producer with a diverse portfolio of uplifting Amapiano offerings, the producer has never for once failed to disappoint us with his offerings and today, he slaps us with this hot new track called ‘Tshwara.’
Tshwara means to give & this song does not lack in giving. It gives energy, dance and a hyper mood. The track has some elements of Rough musiQ style through the strong bassline and loud snare. Additionally it gives the quantum sound feel as an extra sauce on top to hype up the song. Quantum sound is a bass sound mostly used by artists in the olden days, like Machance and Mujava, who were among the pioneers of the original sound. Amapiano has now evolved this sound, imitating the old style but incorporating modern piano instruments and other elements with strong and loud basslines.
Phuddy Jay, one of GemValleyMusiQ’s founders, is recognized as a pioneer of the Rough Amapiano genre. Mid-tempo BPMs, syncopated beats, and energetic, party-oriented vocals are among the classic Amapiano principles that remain. However, Phuddy Jay removed the original version’s warmth and tenderness, introducing hypnotic vibes and a spooky sense of constant pressure. He incorporates into the recipe a unique and essential ingredient known as ‘Clunk Bass,’ which is both dark and uplifting. With Bulala Wena as a slogan, Phuti Makhafola, also known as Phuddy Jay, one of Mamelodi’s most innovative musicians, launches his solo career and continues to push the genre ahead. It’s nearly relaxing music, but it’s powerful enough to slowly drive you insane on the dance floor.
Running for 7:43, this new drop demonstrates Phuddy Jay’s ability to make engaging and soul tripping Amapiano offerings with stellar collaborations. Is there any better way of kick-starting one’s solo career? I guess not!
While Phuddy Jay is just starting afresh, there is no denying that he has plenty of incredible tracks under his belt and with tracks like this, they are definitely going to get bigger. Enjoy!
