Shakes & Les have released their debut album, ‘Mkhaya.’ And this project has everything you would expect from these two mega producers.
It’s good we still have producers referencing old styles of Amapiano. While the sound might have changed and shifted since its inception nearly a decade ago, the past couple of years have seen a resurgence in old elements that once dominated the sound and young producers like Shakes & Les are here to bring out attention to this old but never forgotten styles with their newest entry.
‘Mkhaya‘ is their first major project since the duo attained fame and this one documents their struggles. The album features 14 tracks that not only seek to make you dance but also make you build faith in the process and believe our present predicament won’t be here forever.
Featuring supports from some of the biggest vocalist in the music scene such as LeeMcKrazy, Mashudu, Nkosazana Daughter etc, ‘Mkhaya’ reminds everyone that Amapiano music can be translated into multiple sub-styles without constraint.
