When three producers who know their onions align, the result is a statement-making effort. And this is true for this joint EP from 031Choppa, Shakes & Les called ‘Malunde.’
Shakes & Les first burst on the scene last year releasing successful singles including their ‘Funk 55’ single with DBN Gogo, Zee Nxumalo, Ceeka RSA and Chley. Amassing over 3 million streams, the track as well as their subsequent Funk series set the stage for this unique experimental experience they want to take us on.
Pairing with 031Choppa, they were able to deliver absolute melodic scorchers through 5 powerful tracks and listening thoroughly to this EP, it’s easy to see that it’s a bold declaration of what’s to come from the acclaimed DJs and producers.
Featuring Springle and JayJayy, this EP is an incredibly unique mixture of Sgijga, Kwaito and Private School melodies, all incorporated to make the project feel whole and melodious.
Classifying this project under a subcategory of Amapiano is hard but one can say it something of the Soulful side of the Amapiano music spectrum. You are going to love this one.
