The gospel House sound is now a big thing in the South African music scene and we have producers like Senior Oat to be thankful to for making the feat possible. Out again from his stables comes “Tethered.”
At first, I was among those who thought Senior Oat’s experimentation with Gospel vibes fused with House melodies would struggle to grab the attention of listeners, but I must admit, I was wrong. Not only did he make Gospel House a thing in an industry where secularism is the norm, but he also managed to blend uplifting vibes with holy rhythms that not only heal souls but have also brought more people closer to Christ.
“Tethered” is his newest body of work, and this project is made up of just three songs that are both hefty and melodious.
The collaborations on this project are limited, but the talents Senior Oat joined forces with clearly understood the assignment and delivered their very best. The result is a combination of sounds that raises the bar for the Gospel House scene, pushing it a step above other subgenres of House music while giving listeners another impactful work of art.
