Sihayo & Shenge Wasehlalankosi proved Maskandi can fit just into any settings with their newest delivery, “Owabulala uBaba.”
For a long time, many listeners have associated Maskandi with a section of people and certain settings, but that is changing very fast. Now, the new-age artists are redefining the scene and are making music that fits just about any setting. Be it traditional, modern, romantic, or even dancefloor grooves, these newest entries mark it all.
One such all-encompassing song from the genre is this new release from Sihayo & Shenge Wasehlalankosi entitled “Owabulala uBaba,” and guys, this is one of those songs that starts with calm traditional grooves before the main vocals and verses begin to blast.
SIHAYO is a new face who will redefine the Maskandi scene. Although his catalog is lean, and with what’s available, it will be hard to give his soundscapes a perfect rating, but from the few songs we have listened to, including “Owabulala uBaba,” we believe he’s the next big thing to emerge from the South African Maskandi music scene.
