One of the big disservice you can do to yourself, especially if you are a listener of Maskandi is to sleep on whatever Mzukulu releases. Heck, the man hasn’t disappointed us for once, and he won’t in the future to come. Out today from his corners come “Isesheli” featuring OmaThwala.
As each new season brings a succession of new music from some of Maskandi music’s biggest artists, there is one figure whose fresh catalogue additions we strive not to miss. When news spread that he would be releasing a mini-project, Ubumina, in August, our hearts were gladdened because, deep down, we knew the project would be a perfect bop, regardless of the number of tracks it contained, and we were right.
Made up of just five tracks, Ubumina explores themes of love and life’s struggles, all woven through traditional Maskandi rhythms and flair. One song captivating listeners at the moment is “Isesheli,” a collaboration with OmaThwala.
“Isesheli” is out everywhere and is already shaping up to be one of the go-to songs this festive season for Maskandi followers.
