The many teasers “Before The Album” are always melodious, because they carry the right essence and prepare us for what is to come, and this is true for Shino Kikai’s newest album.
Shino Kikai is one heck of an underrated talent, and I seriously don’t blame those who underrate such great talent. In the music scene, you must be strategic, and one of such strategies that will keep your brand known is by releasing works of art as well as singles fully under your own identity, rather than making contributions or featuring in hit singles.
At the moment, the biggest songs in his catalogue are songs he did with other talents, including “Selimathunzi” with Nkosazana Daughter and DJ Khyber, “Mniki we Mali” with Kabza De Small, and “Incwadi Yenduduzo” with Thatohatsi. These songs are so big, but because they are collaborations and features with very big names, he doesn’t get to take the credit for their success.
Proving his production essence and creativity, he has delivered to us this 10-track album called “Before The Album,” and even though he also featured big talents on this one, most of the productions were of his own creative thoughts, so now, it will be easier to credit him when songs on this project go viral and dominate the airwaves. “Before The Album” is a teaser of what is to come.
