Skhanga has wrapped all of this year’s musical efforts with this new collection of bangers called “Zikhonkotha Ehambayo.”
Just after we listened to “Thando Lwathola Kabi” with KaMaphanga & Yolokazi, we knew it was just about time we craved his full-length project, and luckily for us, before these cravings turned into an addiction, the versatile singer and performer has just landed us an 8-track EP called “Zikhonkotha Ehambayo.”
When people hear Maskandi, they often think it’s a sound that can only be grooved to by our aged parents. But that is wrong. Maskandi often just fits any theme, and by extension of this, is made for any demographic. Whether it is a message of love, hope, work life and challenges, betrayal, or our local traditions, Maskandi offerings, especially those from super-talented figures like Skhanga, have made a killing on all of those topics and even more.
