uDumakahle never ceases to amaze with his ability to create memorable Maskandi melodies. Today, he returns with Disc 1 of his highly anticipated album, “Isithunzi Sakho.”
A couple of weeks ago, uDumakahle announced that he would be releasing a double-disc album. The first disc was to be released today, and the second disc sometime in the month of October. Keeping up with his promises, he has finally released to us the first part of this well-polished Maskandi offering, and this one is refreshing, captivating and full of good traditional rhythms and vibes.
This part comes with thirteen tracks, and across these highly melodious productions, this first disc of “Isithunzi Sakho” offers a seamless fusion of pulsating traditional rhythms, soul-healing Zulu chants, and captivating storytelling, all meticulously woven together in typical Maskandi fabric that hooks you in and never lets you go, and before you realise it, you are already on your third repeat.
Most songs on these tracks were solely voiced by Dumakahle, with the exception of “Imbali,” which included the vocals of Shwi noMtekhala. Tracks on this album tell stories of love, family, challenges and more. Take a dose below!
