Smaki 08 has paid tribute to his grandmother with this mini project he aptly tags “Bahlengaye.”
Since the day we were introduced to the sounds of Smaki 08, we haven’t been able to get our heads out of his music. Heck, there is no way you could listen to “Lutho,” a song featuring DJ Jaivane, Wesley Keys, and De Rose, without falling in love with the producer’s artistry. Although he is not yet a household name, his influence on the Amapiano scene is far-reaching.
Celebrating his Gogo, Smaki 08 has delivered a heartfelt EP titled Bahlengaye. And guys, this project is packed with captivating tracks that showcase his talent for crafting soulful, melodic piano tracks with a touch of Sgidongo influence.
Featuring collaborations with versatile talents such as Czwe De Ancestral, Kaymo Grillz, Smash SA, DJ ALE, Lwami, and DUALITY, the EP offers a diverse listening experience, one that we don’t come across very often. Well, we’re not surprised. A tribute to our Gogo always comes from a special place in our hearts. Take a bite below!
