Nothing beats hearing a tape of a genre from the minds that made it. We felt like we were in lala land when we listened toSomnyama Sunsets 048, a deep House mixtape that was curated by Aquatone, and the best we can do is to share with you guys.
To curate a perfect mixtape, you first need to understand the depth of the sound, the rhythmic flow, and the structural melody. Without this understanding, you would just find yourself conjuring many sounds that do not flow together. Skills like this are why some sets are far more infectious than others.
When it comes to Deep House, only a few skilled veterans like Aquatone can really make a tape that is infectious through and through because, unlike other genres, House mixes need flow, not just a collection of hit songs. This rare sophistication is what he showcases in this mixtape.
This compilation is nearly an hour long, and playing it in whatever way or manner makes you sift through the whole tape in a way that reflects Aquatone’s prowess.
