Ntuthuko Mkhize has released his debut EP, Gbv asibavikele, and for a young talent, he’d made a dope first impression.
There is no law written anywhere that says only people who are advanced in age can make a dope Maskandi offering. Far from that, in fact, some of the catchy melodies we have heard are from young talents who, unlike the old players, are not scared to try their hands at new sounds. And like the saying goes, variety is the spice of life.
Bringing to your attention at this moment is Ntuthuko Mkhize, a young teen who wants to make big changes to the Maskandi sound while also retaining its core essence. Can he do it? Well, we are about to find out with his debut EP, Gbv asibavikele.
Gbv asibavikele is a collection of five tracks, and it includes a tribute song to Nkosiyamagcokama via the song “Rest in Peace,” which I believe will be the star track of the EP. This one is for the charts.
