Blacks Jnr has served us pure bass with his newest collection of bangers, “uMjovo.”
In the entire Gqom music scene, no one delivers hardcore bass quite like Blacks Jnr. Continuously showing no signs of slowing down and remaining consistent with his release of speaker-bursting melodies, the versatile producer has once again returned with another collection of 12 bangers, giving 2026 a dramatic send-off.
Gqom is not a genre we can afford to relegate to the background again. At least, the veterans of the genre have ensured that this never happens. One way they continue to secure Gqom’s place in the competitive South African music industry is through futuristic combinations of highly energetic, rich basslines and melodic offerings that powerfully move anyone they reach. One such collection of sounds is what Blacks Jnr has delivered on uMjovo.
Boasting collaborations with the likes of Da Soul Boyz, Futha Mfethu, Goldmax, Dankie Boi, Elevatorz, Uncool MC, DJ Tira and more, this project joins other releases from the past couple of months in ensuring that the festive season for Gqom lovers is filled with bass and buzz.
