After being called out for copying the trending “Re squeezing in” phrase created by Tiktoker Dimakatso, Daliwonga has now agreed to share royalties with the original creator.
Produced by Mas MusiQ, “Re Lokeleng” earlier this year trended on twitter for days with many accusing Daliwonga of lacking originality. Well, the vocalists is about doing what is right as he just confirmed that royalties from the track will be shared with the phrase originator.
“The Re Lokeleng video was trending in the streets and we were in studio and decided to have fun and we made a song about Re Lokeleng. We posted on social media and I saw the comments. I had not written anything for that song at the time but after seeing the comments, I decided to write this thing. I’m not going to let you guys put me down. The song is still there and it is going to come out at some point. I was doing it for the people, my true fans, the people who actually follow Daliwonga. We can’t just use her line and then not put her on. We are going to drop the song and we are not going to take anything from the royalties,” – Daliwonga said.
The release date for the track hasn’t been confirmed yet but close associates of Daliwonga have hinted that the viral record will be out before the end of May.
