Lending your ears to various sounds, brings out the who goodness of music. Music isn’t supposed to be one way, it’s a road of many lanes all leading to the same destination; melodic fulfillment. Today, we take a dive into the fresh sounds of Umbhoqo that is being pioneered by 3-DIGITS in this newest offering, “Sabaweli.”
Shydow and Predd, 19 and 22, are two young producers from the Johannesburg township of Tembisa (EKURHULENI). Under the 3-DIGITS name, they joined forces with vocalists Bhodloza, 2KAYY and Hleza. This crew of artists has dedicated the last few years designing a new Umbhoqo style, the music genre stemming from the Skhothane culture.
For many, it’s all about getting the vibes in the blood, but with the Umbhoqo offerings being developed by 3-DIGITS, it’s about connecting us to our root and keeping open our true essence while appreciating everything we currently have and the more that will come.
“Sabaweli” is now out on PSSNGR.
