Radio host and presenter, Da Kruk is leaving South Africa’s biggest Youth radio, “YFM”. In a statement released by the talented producer, he stated that, he needed to close this chapter of his life and take on new opportunities.

Da Kruk, as he is affectionately known by listeners, began his tenure at the station as a producer and has grown with the brand, influencing its sound and keeping the tradition of showcasing South Africa’s next big talents.
He is one of the leading figures at the popular youth radio station. Da Kruk hosted a weekly dance show called # ThePlayersClub and alternative music show # TheSindaySocial which both garnered a cult following among music lovers.
He also created the first commercial outlet for the Amapiano genre, called The Amapiano Hour, which introduced thousands of South Africans to the pulsating sound. Says Da Kruk: “I think I have contributed all I set out to do when I joined the station in 2011, and after careful consideration, I’ve decided to close this chapter of my life and take on new opportunities.”
His stay at YFM came with many accolades such as winning “Content Producer of the Year” for 4 years in a row, a Liberty Radio Award nomination in 2018, a South African Dance Music Award nomination in 2018, heading the Y-Academy internship programme and representing the station globally as a mix DJ and as a host on Beat London 103.6FM and Drums Radio.
He says his appetite for taste finding the country and world’s next hot trends still remains and fans should watch out for what he has in store.
Da Kruk acknowledged the station for the opportunity it afforded him during his time there and promised to always be a Yire at heart.
