“Akazenzi” is a new hybrid piano sound by De Madala & Sub Air Low Featuring Skaps Bhenga. De Madala & Sub Air Low is a DJ duo that was brought together by their common love of deep house music. Driven by the desire to transmit emotion through music the duo from the East Rand in Gauteng met up with Skaps Bhenga, who has a strong love and affiliation to the music of hip-hop.
When the three got together in 2017 they realized that amongst them they had a great combination of musical taste and with that the ability to produce a new sound. Merging Sub Air Low and Skaps Bhenga love of hip-hop and De Madala passion for club music a new sound was born.
This sound is a mash-up of Deep House meets AmaPiano. Touch on the keyboard, and Simtholile on guitar bring in that live element to this sound.
All together they make up some of the members of EL Cartel. A meeting not only of musical minds, but young men looking to not only bring a new perspective on loved genres, but to also change the perspective of those in the neighbourhoods they come from through their music .
