Judy Jay Wins Diesel DJ Champion Competition

This month edition of Diesel’s DJ Champion has finally come to an end, with rising female deejay and producer, Judy Jay as its winner.

Before winning the trophy, she was in a tight contest with Gqom producer, Drega, House duo, C4 DJz and DJ Ngamla. You can read more about the diesel championship below

Diesel Denim Fridays (DDF) began as a way for Diesel to bring South Africans’ love for music to the forefront of the brand’s local community. What started out as a simple way to entertain Diesel customers in store, has now evolved into a national initiative where the Diesel brand hopes to empower emerging DJs through the DDF platform. DDF is also moving towards a more digital approach as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each month, Diesel, in partnership with Shimza and the HERO DJs from each city (Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Cape Town) will select a set of emerging DJs to be given the DDF platform as a way to showcase their talent. On the last Friday of the month each HERO DJ will stream live from a different Diesel location across the country, with their selection of three top emerging DJs. All mixes will be streamed through our dedicated DDF website and will be made available after each DDF session.

You will be able to stream, listen, download and vote for your favourite mixes. Voting will be open for 15 days after each session. From there, the HERO DJs will select an overall finalist from their region. The finalists will be in the running to win an opportunity of a lifetime and join their HEROES at the top. The winner DJ will hold the title of Diesel Denim Friday Champion and will receive a cash prize of R50 000, mentorship from the resident DDF HERO DJs, and the rare opportunity to release a track on all digital platforms with support from, and co-produced by, SUPERHERO DJ, Shimza.
