SABC had denied it would issue Car Radio licenses as a result of dwindling revenue from TV licenses. In a statement posted on its official channels, The South African Broadcasting corporation said they have not issued any media statements regarding licenses of car radios.
“The SABC would like to alert the public of a fake media statement which is circulating on various social media platforms titled “INTRODUCTION OF RADIO LICENCES AS PART SABC’S DRIVE TO GENERATE REVENUE”,” SABC posted on Twitter.
Recall that in the early hours of Monday morning, news were flying on social media that SABC would henceforth be issuing licenses for car radios. Debunking the fake news, SABC has issued an official Media statement.
