Gauteng Department of Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation has mourned the sudden demise of Barcadi pioneer and hitmaker itumeleng “Vus Ma R5″ Mosoeu who died during the early hours of Monday morning.
Vusi Ma R5 was shot moments after performing at a club in Soshanguve outside Pretoria. The entertainer and artist is regarded by many as the king of the Barcadi genre and he was notoriously known for his hit tracks “Tse Nyane” and “Chomi ke chenchitse.”
Member of the Executive Council, Morkane Mosupyoe has issued a statement, mourning the late legend.
MEC Morkane Mosupyoe says: “The department condemns the killing of the popular Bacardi star, this indeed threatens the growth and development of the music’ and entertainment industry as these shootings have claimed yet another artist in Pretoria. Vus Ma R5 will
be remembered as an energetic and active performer who was a rising star from the streets of Pretoria, his fans have lost a great artist and entertainer.”
