HPCSA & Wits University have disowned Dr Matthew Lani Zingelwa after the celebrity doctor claimed on social media that he is a qualified doctor.
Dr Matthew Lani who is known for his HIV activism and Medical tips came under hot fire from South Africans after it was allegedly discovered that he does not own a medical license and neither did he graduate from Wits University.
Following lots of queries, HPCSA & Wits University has issued a statement disowning Dr Matthew Lani Zingelwa. According to Wits University, Dr Matthew Lani isn’t a graduate of their school and he is now expected to retract his claims.
“Wits University is obliged to set the public record straight following claims made by “Dr Matthew Lani” on various social media platforms. Based on the names presented to the institution, and the facts on hand, the University cannot find any person who graduated by the name of Matthew Bongani Zingelwa or Sanele Zingelwa in recent years. We are requesting “Dr Matthew Lani” to retract any such claim with immediate effect.” – Wits University said in its Statement.
HPCSA on the other hand has also issued a statement saying that Dr Matthew Lani Zingelwa isn’t a registered practitioner and his name isn’t on their record.
