Msaki is finally calling it a quit after being ridiculed by followers and fans for dating a married man, Smash Afrika. In a viral news that broke out last year, Smash Afrika told his wife that Msaki was his peace.
Following the cyber bullying, Msaki is finally taking a break from her socials. According to her, the attacks are getting into her and since she doesn’t have a thick skin, she is finally going to exit the social media realm.
“Fam … I just wanna thank everyone for this incredible outpouring of love and support. I wanna thank my days 1’s that are still with me that bought my first album in advance and gave me my independence. Please also understand why I have to leave this space. Please release me. I may seem weak because | let this get to me. But I am sensitive, and sentimental, an empath (this is my most valuable creativity tool), my skin is not thick … it is porous so I feel the changes in the breeze . I’m moved quickly and deeply and I understand this may be abnormal. I don’t expect everyone to understand, but i know some of you get it,” She said.
She also appealed to fans to take it easy on celebrities as they are also humans with emotions.
“The same sensitivity where the songs come from is the same sensitivity that can’t handle this callus badgering and normalisation of bullying. Allow me to take my leave for my wholeness. Please remember me as the one who said we are not meant to take this even if it comes with the territory. I stand for them as I leave. We need to love more . Please don’t push people to the edge and only have empathy after they become a static. Be kind to my colleagues , we are just people. We need more gentleness and grace for each other. Please can we change,” She further added.
Going further, all Msaki’s social media handles will be inactive and will only act as a notice board. Although she won’t be active on any platform, she has assured her real friends that she would create a space where they can connect intimately in time.
“I’m excited to honour my remaining commitments and will share my final gig guide. My team will continue my pages as a notice board. I will design a space where I can connect with the real ones more intimately in time. I will miss you , the jokes , the wrong versions of my lyrics, the memes. You have been so kind to me most of the time. Pray for me to have the energy I need to close well. I
think of you all and will always attempt to write and sing us better. This is my calling and I remain devoted to it,” she revealed.
