Last weekend, we get blessed with an infectious body of work from China Charmeleon dubbed “Ubuntu” and within just few days of its release, its already doing magic on charts, amassing close to 300k accumulative streams on digital platforms.
China Charmeleon is one producer who has been a huge part of the house culture. Simply put, he is one of the brain behind the success of the genre in the South African music scene. His success and relevance can be attributed to his ability to mix and mesh together local sounds with elements that have made house music so famous.
While this unique combination of sounds is uncommon, it gave House music a local appeal and flavour that made it flourish in the SA music scene. Continuing to add to the growth of the genre in the country, he delivered to us his long awaited album, Ubuntu and this one is a true collection of bangers.
Featuring 8-tracks, this project isn’t one that is hindered by the constraints of a particular style, as China Charmeleon moves against every tides and limitations with productions that are pure, infectious and sustainable.
