Artists getting shot in South Africa is now becoming a norm. This past few years, the country has lost several of its most precious figures to gun violence.
Some hours back, Popular MC and DJ Peter Mashata Mabuse was reportedly shot and killed just after playing a set in Soshanguve’s Block G. The deejay who was well known in Gauteng was one of the biggest event organizer in the province, with several of his shows having the presence of A-lists deejays and producers.
DJ Peter Mashata was reportedly shot near Tshwane University of Technology in Soshanguve and was confirmed dead a couple of hours later after he was rushed to the hospital. DJ Mashata and his friend sustained some fatal bullet wounds while driving his bakkie.
Family Confirms the Death of the DJ
The family of DJ Peter Mashata has confirmed the death of their son and has asked the media to respect their privacy as they mourn. The family has said that the memorial and funeral service of the deejay will be announced during the course of the week.
The statement reads:
Dear Family, Friends and Fans.
It is with great sadness and sorrow that we inform you of the ultimate passing of our beloved son, uncle brother and colleague Mr Peter “Mashata” Mabuse The family is appreciative of all the messages of support and condolences that have started to flow in and humbly request that they be given the space and time to deal with the trauma.
