It is now clear that Dlala Thukzin’s ultimate goal is to see the expansion of Gqom music. For a proof of this, look no further than his recent releases. Out from his corners today is this powerful Funky Qla-assisted mini EP called ‘031 Studio Camp.’
Dlala Thukzin & Funky Qla are some of the few producers keeping Gqom alive. Their addition of fresher elements to the sound has done a lot in sustaining its relevance and it is good to see them continue with the good work. Today, the duo just released their newest mini project and it’s undeniably some of their best work yet.
Made up of only two tracks and with supports from Mthunzi, Sino Mso Zee Nxumalo & MK Productions, ‘031 Studio Camp EP’ was carefully crafted to meet the needs of listeners. You may recognize either of the two track that make up the EP as Dlala Thukzin has been dropping them in his live sets recently.
This mini project is a culmination of sounds that the Dlala Thukzin & Funky Qla have been working on over the past few months and it arrives on the heels of Dlala Thukzin’s smash EP, “Permanent Music 3,” which has racked up over 5 million streams worldwide across digital platforms.
