Double P & Potential Bros have delivered their long awaited joint EP, ‘Private Lekompo Chapter 1’ and this project is one that makes you recognise and appreciate the beauty of the Lekompo sound.
With Lekompo music booming through speakers everywhere, it makes sense that young producers are beginning to take over the sound by adding more styles to it. As we witnessed with Amapiano, sub-sounds of the genre quickly emerged as soon as it went mainstream, giving it even more edge over other established sounds that are stuck in time and follow a single pattern.
Following similar patterns, young artists like Double P & Potential Bros are now redefining the Lekompo trends by creating more branches and sub-genres, this way they tap fully into the music market, delivering tracks that are capable of making more listeners have interest on the Limpopo sound.
Introducing their first experimental sound, they are here with ‘Private Lekompo Chapter 1’ and this one is a collection of three beautiful tracks that adds some Soulful and private colour to the Lekompo outfit. Tracks on this EP were solely produced by Phobla On The Beat, Prince Zulu, Kaycherlow NLL and Cliff Kayden with support from Tribby WaDi BhoZza on ‘O Khe Nsiye Hala Hitt.’
This EP is just made of 3 tracks, but nonetheless the few records bangs and I’m sure we’ll be hearing it many sets to come.
