Jelly Babie has apologised to Big Save’s cashier hours after she was dragged online by her fans for being disrespectful and rude to the cashier. Problem started for Jelly Babie when she visited Big Save’s Mabopane shop on April 22nd and had an altercation with a cashier named Martha Nonhlanhla Mazibuko.
The video which was immediately uploaded on Jelly Babie’s Tiktok account attracted lots of criticism due to the disrespectful and condescending way she spoke to the cashier. The viral video not only attracted criticism but made her loose thousands of her followers as well as some endorsement.
Legal Threat From Big Save
Following the viral video, Big Save issued a statement revealing that they were against the harassment of its cashier and threatened to take legal action against Jelly Babie unless she issues a public apology to the company.
“Furthermore, we acknowledge that the staff member’s rights and privacy have be violated and will be guiding her appropriately in line with the POPIA, as she was filmed without her consent. We stand by her in determining the appropriate course of action in response to this breach. Our priority remains the safety and dignity of our employees and we will take the necessary measures to ensure a supportive and respectful work environment. We call for accountability from the TikTok Influencer involved and urge for appropriate action to be taken, in apologising publicly to both our employee and the company,” – Big Save management said in a statement.

On April 24, Jelly Babie visited Big Save where she apologized to Martha and the general public and her apology was accepted by Martha and Big Save.
500k Unfollowed Tiktok Users Rumours
During the peak of her criticism, it was rumoured that Jelly Babie lost 500k fans who Unfollowed her after her degrading video went viral.
While thousands of users did unfollow her, we can clarify that it was not near the 500k user claims by some users. There was never a time she had close to 600k followers and so the claim of 500k Unfollowed users is probably is false rumour.
