Mr Tumelo Manyoni popularly known as Mr JazziQ has responded to an allegation of assault and harassment raised by drive time show producer Ngcebo Mcobothi.
Ngcebo Mcobothi made the allegations on her Twitter feed, which eventually went viral. In the post, Ngcebo Mcobothi stated that she was sexually assaulted by Mr JazziQ while in a lift on their way to YFM.

Reacting to the sexual assault allegations levied on him, Mr JazziQ has said no such thing happened. In a statement released a couple of hours ago, Mr. JazziQ revealed that a case of assault couldn’t have occurred because he was never in the lift alone with Ngcebo Mcobothi as they were 5 other people with them. He also said that Ngcebo Mcobothi was never in a close proximity with him and the lift only took some few seconds which is not enough for him to carry out an assault of any kind.
“Upon seeing news of the alleged assault on the said social media platform, Mr JazziQ and his team promptly contacted YFM’s station manager, Haseena Cassim, requesting CCTV footage of the alleged incident. The basis for this request was for Mr JazziQ to offer a detailed response to the damaging allegations by providing irrefutable evidence that they have no basis in truth or fact… Four days after the footage was initially requested, YFM has responded (see Appendix B) stating that the said lift has no cameras… The response by YFM has left Mr JazziQ with no option but to utilise the other available evidence at his disposal, recognising the limitations it poses as it does not capture what transpired inside the lift… The video evidence provided by Mr. JazziQ’s videographer, and which has since been published, shows Ms. Mcobothi entering the building and the Lift along with Mr. JazziQ, his team, and another famous artist joining him for the interview. Mr. JazziQ is seen taking a picture with a fan after Ms. Mcobothi entered the lft ahead of him, with several other people in tow. Seconds later, the entourage is seen exiting the lift, with Mr. JazziQ and his PR manager walking behind Ms. Mcobothi, who is leading them into the studio. Three points are important to note.” Part of the statement reads.
Threat of Legal Action
Mr JazziQ has said that while he has no intention on taking legal actions against Ngcebo Mcobothi, he may be forced to go the legal route in order to have the suspicion lifted from him.
