The South African Music Awards (SAMA) has released the nominees list of the upcoming #SAMA30 ceremony. Marking their 30th anniversary of celebrating good music in Mzansi, this year’s edition will be extraordinary, touching on all facets and sounds of the SA music culture.
To kickstart the activities for this year’s edition while also fueling anticipation, the management of The South African Music Awards (SAMA) has released the nominees list in the category of Music Video of the Year which was sponsored by RiSA Audio and Visual (RAV) and the Record of the Year which was sponsored by Motsepe Foundation.
Murumba Pitch, Mawhoo, Dj Maphorisa, Mas Musiq, Nkosazana Daughter, Master KG SA, Tyla, Busta 929, Blxckie, AKA and Nasty C were nominated in the Video of the Year category. While the category of Record of the Year was dominated by Tyler ICU, Kabza De small, Dj Maphorisa, Dlala Thukzin, Young Stunna, Nkosazana Daughter, Dj Stokie SA, Mellow & Sleazy, Aymos Shili, HarryCane Bw, Big Zulu, Master KG SA and Thabza Tee.
Voting is now open to the public. If you would love to vote in your favourite artist, send SMS voting code to 33485 and stand a chance to win R30k. SMS charged at R1.50. T’s & C’s apply. Fans can also vote for their favourite song released between 15 April 2023 and 14 April 2024.
