It’s hard to see the split of Murumba Pitch but as fans, we just have to accept the reality and work with whatever either of the duo pushes out. A couple of weeks back, one half of the duo, DJ Mathye released his long anticipated EP, “Emmanuel (God Is With Us)” and guys we can’t get enough of it.
When a project gets released, we first of all take our time to digest every track, so we could understand the thought process of the producer and the reason behind every melody and strokes. A couple of weeks back, DJ Mathye of the defunct Murumba Pitch group delivered his debut solo EP, “Emmanuel (God Is With Us).”
Featuring four hefty tracks, this album takes listeners on a journey through Afro-Tech, 3-Step, and spiritual Amapiano — a rare fusion of sounds not often experienced in the South African music scene. Don’t be unsettled by the bold amalgamation of styles, as the inclusion of versatile talents such as Thakzin and Mashudu transforms the project into a deeply personal, powerful, and soulful body of work.
