Smiselo has delivered his debut project, “Ngikuthuma kubo,” and with this one, we can now guage his musical strength and prowess.
I don’t know how Maskandi artists do it. Without the backing of any major label, they’ve managed to fully control the local music scene, dominating taxi ranks and speakers with pure melodies. The numbers a rising Maskandi artist can pull on YouTube with a single song are ones that many mainstream Amapiano figures can’t match. Maybe the reason they’re shining is that the Maskandi sound is made for the locals, rooted in our traditional Zulu elements and core essence.
Today, we are happy to share with you a new entry from Smiselo called “Ngikuthuma kubo,” and on this one, the artists masterfully crafts offering that blends driving rhythms with soaring Zulu melodies.
This EP is made of six tracks and fans have already experienced a couple of these tunes in numerous Smiselo’s live streams this year, and it’s time they have the full copy.
