Come this Friday, Stixx will be releasing a powerful album via “The Dawn,” and this one will deepen our understanding of his signature sounds.
In the current South Africa music scene, Amapiano remains the biggest genre. So when you flip the sound and modify it to suit your own agenda, it will always sell and be popular. Stixx was smart enough to realize this. Since pushing his Kwapi sound, a sub-sound of Amapiano that blends Amapiano with Kwaito, he amassed a lot of streams on his catalog and a sense of recognition that most pioneers of Amapiano will most likely never come close to.
Taking his relevance to the next level, the producer is gearing for the release of his sophomore album and this one will include productions that will raise his profile in the remaining months of the year.
Some tracks from the project have already been teased a couple of times on on Stixx’s playlist and from what we have listened to, the album is one that will blur the lines between Kwaito and Amapiano while also challenging preconceived notions about what Amapiano music can be.
The Dawn will be out everywhere 10 October, 2025.
