Busta 929 & Smaki 08 are the messengers of our ancestors and they send their messages through them via this 5-track album, “Amazwi Omdabu.”
When Busta 929 & Smaki 08 released “Langelihle” alongside Kayla Praise as the pre-release to the “Amazwi Omdabu (Messengers Of The Ancestors)” EP, we knew the project would be dope, and we weren’t wrong. Listening to this EP, we get a sense of traditional feels as well as modern dancefloor vibes, and this unique experience is why the EP remains one of the finest the scene has seen.
The EP is made up of just four tracks, and they include melodies that are a whirlwind from all corners of the Amapiano spectrum, from Soulful Piano to Sgidongo, with a small touch of Sgija.
There is no way a couple of tracks from this EP won’t be added to your favourite playlist because, guys, the unmistakable sonic aesthetics of both Busta 929 & Smaki 08 are unmatched, and this has led to tracks that are expertly crafted and will no doubt be future contenders for Project of the Year.
