“Qhubeka uGalavante” is the new banger by Civil Soul & Busta 929, and on this one, they enlist the assistance of Smaki 08.
Busta 929’s Thupa Industry continues to boast an exciting crop of fresh talent, and as tradition demands, the label is introducing them to the broader Amapiano scene through new releases. Today, they spotlight the vocal talents of Civil Soul with the stunning record “Qhubeka uGalavante,” produced by Busta 929 and Smaki 08.
I miss the days when the soldiers of Thupa Industry consistently flooded the scene with bangers. Not to be overly critical of Busta 929, but the departure of several key talents had a noticeable impact on the label. Artists such as Djy Vino, who is now aligned with Kabza De Small’s Piano Hub Records, played a defining role in the label’s success, bringing energy and a diverse range of flavours to its productions. When those talents moved on, Thupa Industry was left with fewer versatile artists to keep its flag flying high on the Amapiano battlefield.
Thankfully, Busta 929 appears to be rebuilding his team and surrounding himself with another generation of promising talent. Today, he introduces us to Civil Soul through the release of “Qhubeka uGalavante,” and this is the kind of record you don’t want to sleep on.
