I would say that there is no way you would listen to a DJ Kent mixtape and not fall in love with House music. Reviving the addictive concoction of sounds that has got many of us on a chokehold, he has just launched a new mixtape series via Bloma and today we have returned with the first episode.
“Bloma,” which means chill, is a mixtape series crafted for the rhythm of the weekend, and it’s the successor to the Weekent series, whose last episode was released in 2023. For those of you who are no newcomers to the South African house music scene, you already know how it feels when a mixtape from DJ Kent is playing on the radio, and thankfully, those good old memories are now being brought back to us via this newest series, Bloma.
Bloma was recorded in Cape Town at Blomplek, one of the chilliest spots in the city, and this one is both a collection of real music that’s emotional and genuine.
With a runtime of over one hour, this mixtape is an arrangement of experimental sounds, from Deep to Soulful House and everything in between.
