Felo Le Tee was a guest last weekend at Sucasa and he of course he delivered a perfect Afro House Mixtape.
I love the recent approach of Amapiano producers and DJs. Gone are the days when they ignorantly confined themselves to a box. Now they explore everything the South African music scene has to offer, and one reason for this is that their work on Amapiano can almost be said to be done.
With the genre dominating almost half of the charts and becoming one of the biggest music exports from South Africa, we can confidently say that Amapiano has reached the stage its pioneers always envisioned. Now that much of that mission has been accomplished, many of these producers and DJs are exploring other sounds that have long existed in the South African music landscape, especially House music.
Over the weekend, Felo Le Tee was hosted by Sucasa, one of the biggest establishments in Johannesburg. To the surprise of fans, he sampled several house melodies during his set, and this even energized the crowd more than some of his Amapiano selections.
Enjoy!
