We have followed through Mick Man’s progress in the Amapiano scene, so believe us when we say that whatever project that comes from his stables is well throughout and “Stellenbosch Drive” is no exception to this.
Mick Man is one of those young producers that needs no introduction. As a figure renowned for his incredible contributions to some of the biggest soulful productions the scene has ever seen, there is no production he puts out today that is anything short of spectacular.
Well, this is expected, especially for someone who was once under the tutelage of soulful king Kelvin Momo. And in retrospect, I think the era when these two gave us collaborative albums and productions was the best time in the history of Private School Piano. In fact, when I feel like experiencing real piano tracks of huge soulful essence, I put on tracks by Kelvin Momo and Mick Man like “East & South,” “Dopeness,” and “Stay With Me.”
Still bringing those good soulful vibes we all cherish to recent times, Mick Man has taken it upon himself to consistently put out raw bangers, and today, he is here with this 8-track collection called “Stellenbosch Drive.” On this album, he taps Yumbs, Soulful Disciple, The Bless, Tsebebe Moroke, and Sam Deep, and together, they delivered a truly infectious entry.
