There is a lot to expect from Mr Thela this year and “Cruel Combo” with Lakhe Cruel Boyz is just his first collab of many to come.
Mr Thela has a massive project in store for his fans this October. Come the 30th of this month, the bass king will be releasing a 20-track album titled INTSIKA (KING OF GQOM), and as tradition demands, he is creating massive awareness of this album and giving us a taste of what is to come with this pre-release.
If you look at the Gqom charts right now, you would see Mr Thela’s hand in most of the trending songs on the table. In fact, to this day, no song has been able to displace his “Wo Lo” single with Mihlali The Guy, Dankie Boi, Cairo CPT, Sino Msolo, and Konke.
Just as Gqom is gaining the ground it has lost to Amapiano over the years, Mr Thela continues to maintain the momentum. Now, he intends to release a collection of bangers, and to promote this project, he has given us “Cruel Combo,” a song that sees him pay homage to the golden era of Gqom music while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of the genre with new twists, electronic influences, and innovative production techniques.
