The struggles of the Black child are something only we as Blacks understand. The pain of lack, the pain of not being able to eat, the pain of unemployment, the pain of not being able to provide for our loved ones and those dependent on us, the job rejection disappointment, the struggles of failing to meet up with expectations. These challenges are what just many of us Blacks can relate to, but with prayers and perseverance, we will always triumph and come out of these challenges. And when we do, we will sing praises to God, and this song by DJ Zinhle, Nayvee Womculo & Young Stunna entitled “Nayvee’s Prayer” is the song we will play when that day finally arrives.
Music is not just made to make us dance; it is made to communicate feelings, emotions and our daily struggles, and not every time do we get a song that is of hope, faith, and perseverance.
