The Amapiano being played today is far different from what dominated the airwaves during the early days of the sound. While we can’t deny the innovations that have swept through the genre over the past couple of years, we believe these big changes are gradually eroding the true essence and melodies of the sound.
Well, we can’t stop change. If there is one thing that has remained constant throughout life, it is change, so as far as Amapiano is concerned, we should have it at the back of our minds that the sound will always change and evolve. But while these changes are taking place, it’s important that veterans keep the essence intact, or else we might end up with a sound that has lost all of its sauce and melodies.
And this is where N’kay & Nim, the remaining duo of the Kota Embassy group, come in. As pioneers of Amapiano, they are some of the few producers who have continued to keep the essence of the sound intact through their refined sounds. And today, they have just delivered to us this stunning mixtape that is a combination of their finest productions.
