Maskandi duo, NND International have delivered to us yet another captivating song and this one is titled “Love back.”
I love the way the Maskandi sound is structured. Even though we have lost a handful of legends, we still feel their presence because the new-age Maskandi artists draw inspiration from them. An example is Mgqashiyo Ndlovu, a Maskandi veteran who passed away in the early 2000s, 2003 to be precise. Despite it being over two decades since he died, his sound still rings a bell within not only the traditional Zulu settings but the whole of the South African music scene as a whole.
As we mentioned earlier, young talents like NND International draw inspiration from such legends, studying artists like Mgqashiyo Ndlovu and his unique way of singing, then applying what they have learned through their own flair and modern twists. The result from the NND International duo has been a collection of standout productions.
“Love Back” is the latest from their corner, and this one is taken from their newest album of the same title. Built around an emotive theme, this song talks about the wants to be desired, loved, and appreciated.
