If someone had told PLG Chanty that she would become one of the biggest artists in the country this year, I doubt that she would have believed that prophecy. But look at her today. She is not only the biggest force in the industry, but she has also become the face of the emerging Lekompo sound.
Well, being the face of the Lekompo sound came as no surprise, not when her bangers “Stofi Stofoza” with King Master, “Stofi Stofoza (2.0)” with King Master & Focalistic, and “Ke Bona Wena Fela” with Poobington & Primo ZA are among the top 10 Lekompo entries of the year, dominating charts and all amassing over 5 million cumulative streams each.
These tracks weren’t just party starters; they became the lifeblood of the genre, whose influence is not yet solidified in the competitive South African music space. Crowning her 2026 success, PLG Chanty has delivered to us this 5-track EP called “20Chanty6,” and this one was made from an appreciative heart.
