It’s so good to see that old players like Tee Jay are still very much active pumping out new offerings. Today, the notorious hitmaker is blessing our speaker with this Abuti Low Key & Mapendane RSA-assisted record called “Smomondiya.”
The Amapiano scene in 2021 was largely dominated by acts like Tee Jay. Bangers like “Lwangempela” with Basetsana, Makwa, Lucille Slade, Moscow & Le Sax, and “Izimbali” featuring Ntando Yamahlubi completely had dancefloors in a chokehold. While we didn’t get much from him after 2023, the producer seems to be back in form, and now he is making his re-emergence with the release of “Smomondiya.”
“Smomondiya” is a track that Tee Jay expertly crafts with vibrant synths, punchy percussion, and a plethora of exciting sounds. The assistance of Abuti Low Key & Mapendane RSA really makes everything feel more refined.
Tee Jay is working on his next studio album. Although he had previously teased a handful of tracks that will make it onto the upcoming project, this new release really gives us a perfect glimpse into the project and what to expect.
