Ahead of his forthcoming EP which will land September 18, Zwide has delivered to us this pre-release, “Phez’komuntu” and this one is a collaboration with Limit Nala & Saliwa.
Zwide has only spent less than four years in the Maskandi mainstream, but he is already moving like he has been in the scene for years. Continuing to expose us to his seasoned artistry and an untarnished excitement for what is still to come, he has delivered this powerful new entry, “Phez’komuntu,” and guys, this one is heavy.
“Phez’komuntu” is the title of his forthcoming 3-track EP, and this also doubles as the pre-release name. To do justice to the project, he taps on melodies that have formed the core pillars of Maskandi, and with the traditional flairs that were littered all through the song, you get a single that is melodious and enticing.
Zwide’s music always has a very distinct progressive sound, and this is not lost in this track, which infuses rhythmic beats and Zulu-influenced chants and vocals to make a perfect output.
