Maphorisa & XDuppy are now the talk of the town following the release of their two joint collaborative project. Tapping into the buzz, the Groove Cartel session has hosted them for another edition of their Amapiano mix series and they killed it absolutely.
In the era of streaming, artists no longer earn much from their project releases as they use to during the time when CDs were sold. But money isn’t why artists spend their time in crafting melodies. The attention and fame they derive from the success of a project is so important for their career and status.
Nobody would want to book an artists whose last banger was ten years ago. It’s the artists that are topping the streaming charts are the ones who get booked regularly. And guys, this is where the money is! As someone who fully understands the music game, DJ Maphorisa is always striving to be on our face. If he isn’t releasing a solo single, he is collaborating with young talents for a joint album, and all of these techniques is why he still remains relevant in the music scene.
A couple of days ago, he released a couple of albums with XDuppy, and as the project is dominating the charts, the producer is getting booked left, right and center. Luckily for us, one of his recent set is being captured by the Groove Cartel session and it’s indeed beautiful.
