Everything about Sgidongo, including the structure currently in place, was laid down by Lowbass Djy. Not only is he a pioneer of the sound, but he is also one of the genre’s key sustainers. Without him, I doubt the scene would be expanding at the rate it is today.
That said, Sgidongo is not completely out of the muddy waters yet, especially now, with fierce competition among the many sub-sounds of Amapiano, all vying for dominance at the top of the genre. With Private School Piano still maintaining its number one position, Sgidongo needs as much refinement as possible if it hopes to survive. In this regard, acts like Lowbass Djy, who are the brains behind the sound, are essential to keeping the fire burning.
