Baby S.O.N, Nvcho & Stixx have aligned for “Phone Yam,” one of the lead single on Baby S.O.N’s upcoming studio project, Heartbreak & Log Drum.
Pre-releases don’t typically give us the full picture of an upcoming album, but at least they provide a clue, and that clue is usually enough to get us excited. A couple of weeks ago, Baby S.O.N announced that he would be releasing a seven-track project titled Heartbreak & Log Drum, and now he has returned with a pre-release that gives us a glimpse of what is to come with the beautiful track, “Phone Yam.”
On “Phone Yam,” Baby S.O.N enlists the assistance of Nvcho & Stixx, two versatile figures in the South African music scene who have occupied some of the top spots on the charts, especially Spotify’s Top 100 DJs list, for several consecutive years. The song carries an emotive vibe, one that only those who have gone through heartbreak can truly relate to.
Let’s not forget the incorporation of log drums throughout the track, which gives it a beautiful appeal. Baby S.O.N, Nvcho & Stixx’s dynamic sound design and production arrangements are always forward-thinking, and that quality is clearly evident here.
