Everyday, we get more reasons why Judy Jay should be crowned the queen of House music. Her recent set/mix that was captured by the Somnyama Sunsets sessions just show how compelling her sounds is.
We are forever grateful to Dark Horse for his Somnyama Sunsets initiative. Since the launch of the mixtape series, we have discovered a whole lot of sounds from the Sub-House genre, while also expanding our taste palette with melodies many of us never thought existed within the sphere of the genre.
Hosting one of the biggest female deejays for another episode, Somnyama Sunsets 046 sees Judy Jay curate a host of sounds, many of them previously unpublished and locked away, alongside a balanced mixture of vocals and instrumentals. The result? A compilation that takes you deep down the Deep House hole.
This tape runs for one hour, and while the essence of the compilation is rooted in Deep House, Judy Jay proves her versatility by playing around the waters of Soulful House, with some touches of Afro House.
