Makhadzi has released her new booking details despite Open Mic Records still insisting she is signed to them.
The spokesperson of Open Mic Records, Nkateko Maluleke had some days back said Makhadzi is still a member of Open Mic Productions and can only be free when the label approves of it.
Nkateko Maluleke went on to clarify that Makhadzi is still a member of the label because her contract with the records was on auto renewal, meaning it gets auto renewed immediately it expires, unless the record label decides not to renew.
“We are sitting with a valid contract, so we won’t be issuing a similar statement. She’s still on contract with Open Mic. It [the contract] was an auto renewal, so people get excited and sensationalise, that is why I have taken up a position not to engage publicly but rather stick to what we have on record. An auto-renewable contract means when the expiry time comes, it automatically renews until the record label decides not to renew. It renews with a similar period as the initial contract and she has a letter confirming renewal,” Nkateko Maluleke said.
Insisting that she has no part with Open Mic Records, Makhadzi has revealed her new contact details and once again warned organizers never to book her through her former label as it won’t be honored.
“Book me now. Don’t book me via open mic cz honestly I won’t show up , the contract has anded . I don’t want to fight with promoters and my fans,” Makhadzi Tweeted.
