Shebeshxt Allegedly Jailed For Seven Years

Rising artists Shebeshxt, real name Katlego Chauke has allegedly being jailed for seven years.

The singer and performer who was arrested a while ago for assault and illegal possession of dangerous weapons has been in and out of the courtroom for weeks and today, a statement from his Instagram handle has confirmed his jail sentence.

“It is with great sorrows to announce that on this day 08 May 2023, Katlego “Shebeshxt” Chauke was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Lebowakgomo Magistrate Court for attempted murder that occurred a week ago. Shebeshxt played an enormous role in Limpopo music genre and had a lot of fans across the nation. He was generally known for his hit called st malume and Cinderella amongst others. It is with great sadness that we won’t have more upcoming hits like these ones for a while,” part of the statement reads.

Already, many are doubting the authenticity of the media statement, with some of his close associates saying the rumour of his jail sentence isn’t true. DJ Coach took to his Facebook page this evening to also debunk the rumour, saying they are just lies on his friend.

“Take it from me, Shebe is not sentenced to 7 years, those are lies on my boi 🙄. You busy spreading lies and nonsense you don’t even know how much a lawyer costs per appearance 🙄, 7 years ke mmago My boi is not perfect yes, but he’s not a bad guy,” DJ Coach posted on his Facebook wall.
